Registration Form Explanatory Notes
PLEASE NOTE :
ALL COMPETITORS WHO ARE REGISTERED WITH WALES, SCOTLAND AND ENGLAND WILL BE ALLOCATED A UNIQUE BRITISH COMPETITION NUMBER THAT WILL BE RETAINED FOR LIFE (subject to annual registration fee being paid). If you are not a competitive or Master swimmer please DO NOT include your date of birth on the form. You will be allocated a unique WASA Number instead of a GB Number.
- The essential purpose of this form is to provide the necessary information for the named swimmer to be included in the British Ranking lists.
- Please note that it is essential for the full information to be included clearly and accurately as failure to include accurate data on to the Database will result in the swimmer not being accepted for competitions or for inclusion in the Ranking Lists.
- Qualification to swim for Wales is one
of the following: either
- a) a native born in Wales;
- b) born of a Welsh parent born in Wales;
- c) Resident in the Principality
for more than 12 months if aged 16 and under or 36 months
if over 16. If applying as an Individual Member then please include:
- copy of your birth certificate;
- a copy of your birth certificate and a copy of parent's birth certificate and marriage certificate (in the case of qualification through mother) or
- proof of residency.
- Swimmers with Welsh qualification who are members of a Welsh Club will only be identified on the Ranking Lists as being members of the Club that holds their WASA registration. For all these swimmers administration of their registration will be via the WASA office.
- Swimmers with Welsh qualification who are members of a non Welsh club will be identified on the Ranking Lists by the code for that club. For these swimmers the administration of their registration will be via the non Welsh club to the SASA or the ASA. However, these swimmers will still be identified as Welsh on the Rankings List by the letter W following the time achieved.
- For swimmers with national qualification other than Wales, who are members of a Welsh club, registration will be administrated via the WASA Office. They will be identified as English or Scottish with the letter E or S Following the time achieved.
- Please note that Welsh qualified swimmers, whose GB Competitor number is administered by the ASA or SASA, will still need to pay the WASA Affiliation fee in order to compete in Welsh closed championships. They should do so direct to the WASA office using the WASA Registration form including the name of their club and their GB Competitor No.
- Swimmers who are members of a non Welsh club who wish to hold membership and compete for a Welsh club in WASA championship events may do so. In these circumstances the conditions stated in 7 above will still apply.
- NOFIO
